Fibromyalgia syndrome is a chronic soft tissue rheumatic pain syndrome characterised by sleep disturbance, widespread muscle pain and tenderness, extreme fatigue, weakness and morning stiffness.
It manifests itself especially with excessive sensitivity from certain parts of the body. Fibromyalgia syndrome, which is seen in 3 percent of the society, negatively affects the quality of life of patients. Fibromyalgia, which is the second most common disease among rheumatic diseases, is three times more common in women than in men. Studies show that there are approximately 1.3 million fibromyalgia patients in our country. Fibromyalgia symptoms are very likely to be compared with different diseases. When the correct diagnosis is not made, although fibromyalgia complaints decrease, the risk of relapse after a while is very high. When fibromyalgia is left untreated, it causes a decrease in quality of life and loss of labour force.
